Accepting your body isn't always easy. For some, it's always been there; for others, it's changed through pregnancy, weight gain or simply the passage of time. Today, many techniques exist to improve your body and feel better about yourself. We take stock of the situation during our consultation, and I'll do my best to advise you.
Abdominoplasty - Bodylift
- Abdominoplasty: After significant weight loss or pregnancy, the skin on the abdomen sometimes has difficulty retracting. It can then hang down to cover the pubis. A tummy tuck (or tummy tuck) is the only way to remove this excess skin. Liposuction is often combined to further enhance the silhouette. The aim is to achieve a flatter, firmer and more aesthetically pleasing abdomen.
- Body lift is a surgical procedure designed to reshape and firm various areas of the body, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs and sometimes even the back, by removing excess skin and fat. This procedure is generally performed on people who have lost a significant amount of weight and have significant skin laxity in several parts of their body. The procedure involves removing excess skin and adipose tissue, then tightening the remaining skin to create a more harmonious, toned silhouette.
Combining a body lift with an abdominoplasty is a relatively common practice in plastic surgery, especially for people who have undergone significant weight loss. This combination provides a comprehensive treatment for several areas of the body affected by sagging skin and excess fat.
Abdominoplasty focuses primarily on the abdominal region, removing excess skin and fat and tightening weakened abdominal muscles. Body lift, on the other hand, generally treats several areas of the body, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs and sometimes the back.
By combining the two procedures, the surgeon can create a more harmonious and aesthetically pleasing silhouette by treating sagging skin and excess adipose tissue on several parts of the body in a more comprehensive way.
Diastasis treatment
Diastasis cure, also known as diastasis recti repair, is a surgical procedure to correct diastasis recti. Diastasis recti is a condition in which the rectus abdominis muscles (abdominal muscles) separate, leaving a gap or opening between them. This can occur after pregnancy, due to pressure on the abdominal muscles as the uterus grows, or in people who have lifted heavy objects incorrectly, among other causes.
The cure for diastasis usually involves repairing this separation of the abdominal muscles through surgical intervention. During the procedure, the surgeon will tighten the weakened or separated abdominal muscles, often using sutures to bring the muscles together and restore strength and stability to the abdominal wall.
This procedure can be performed alone or in combination with other surgical procedures, such as abdominoplasty, to achieve optimal aesthetic results.
Belly liposuction
Liposuction of the abdomen, also known as abdominal liposculpture, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to eliminate excess fat localized in the abdominal region to achieve a flatter, more sculpted abdomen. This procedure is often performed on people who have difficulty losing abdominal fat despite a healthy diet and regular exercise.
During tummy tuck liposuction, the plastic surgeon makes small incisions in the abdominal area and inserts thin tubes called cannulas to draw out excess fat. This technique helps to shape the figure more precisely and create more harmonious contours.
It's important to note that liposuction of the abdomen does not treat excess skin or weakened abdominal muscles. In cases where there is significant skin laxity or diastasis recti, abdominoplasty or other surgical procedures may be necessary to achieve the desired results.
Liposuction of the hips - love handles
Liposuction of the hips and love handles is an aesthetic surgical procedure designed to eliminate excess fat located around the waist and hips to achieve a slimmer, more proportionate figure. These areas are often resistant to exercise and diet alone, and liposuction can be an effective solution for eliminating stubborn fat deposits.
During liposuction of the hips and love handles, the plastic surgeon makes small incisions in the targeted areas and inserts fine cannulas to draw out excess fat. This technique allows the body contours to be sculpted more precisely and creates a smoother transition between the hips and the rest of the body.
It's important to note that liposuction is not a weight loss solution, but rather a body contouring procedure. It is generally recommended for people who are close to their ideal weight, but who have localized fat deposits that do not respond to diet or exercise.
