Eyelids

The face is analyzed in movement. The beauty of the face lies in the mimicry and the pout. We must therefore always take this into account, so as never to freeze a look or block a smile. As the years go by, the skin can relax and fat can distribute itself differently, giving the face a stern, sad or tired look in which we no longer recognize ourselves. The aim of facial rejuvenation surgery is to restore radiance without distorting or transforming the face.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure to correct upper and/or lower eyelids that show signs of sagging skin, excess fat or wrinkles. This procedure is often performed to rejuvenate the appearance of the eyes by eliminating under-eye bags, reducing drooping eyelids and smoothing wrinkles around the eyes.

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty generally involves making an incision along the natural crease of the eyelid to remove excess skin and fat. For lower eyelid blepharoplasty, the incision may be made just below the eyelashes or inside the eyelid to access the underlying fat. In some cases, a technique called transconjunctival blepharoplasty is used, where the incision is made inside the eyelid, eliminating the need for external scars.

Recovery from blepharoplasty can vary depending on the extent of the procedure, but generally requires a rest and recovery period of one to two weeks. Bruising and swelling around the eyes are common after surgery, but gradually diminish over time.

The results of blepharoplasty are usually visible once swelling and bruising have subsided, with a more rejuvenated, alert and refreshed appearance to the eyes.
