Skin lesions & skin tags

Restore healthy skin

Skin lesions and small skin growths are common and generally benign. They can be aesthetic or medical in origin and may appear with age, sun exposure, or for genetic reasons.

At myclinic, every lesion is examined by a doctor to establish an accurate diagnosis and recommend the most appropriate treatment.

WHICH TREATMENT TO CHOOSE?

The treatment depends on the type of lesion, its location, and your skin type:

  • Small benign lesions → Electrocoagulation (diathermy).
  • Keratoses, warts, or certain superficial lesions → Cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen).
  • Moles or lesions requiring analysis → Surgical removal with biopsy if necessary.
  • Sun-related pigmented spots → Lumecca IPL after medical diagnosis.
  • Comprehensive dermatological diagnosis → Consultation with our dermatologist to determine the most suitable treatment.

The most common lesions

Small skin tags on the neck or underarms (acrochordons), raised brown seborrheic keratoses, warts, small red dots (angiomes), or white milia cysts are very common. They are benign, but can be bothersome due to their appearance or become irritated by contact with clothing and jewelry.

How the treatment works

Most of these lesions are treated in a short session at the clinic. After local anesthesia if necessary, electrocoagulation or cryotherapy removes the lesion. A small scab forms and usually falls off within one to two weeks. At-home care is simple: keep the area clean and protect it from the sun.

Good to know

Can multiple lesions be treated in the same session? Yes, in most cases, depending on their number and location.

Does the treatment leave a mark? The skin is usually pink for a few weeks, and then the mark fades. Sun protection minimizes the risk of dark spots.

Can the lesions return? A treated lesion rarely returns, but new ones may appear over time, especially keratoses and skin tags.
