The initial consultation is an essential time for discussion. Dr. Samuel Levy listens to your expectations, examines the shape of your nose, skin quality, and breathing, and analyzes your profile's harmony. He explains what is achievable, the proposed technique, and the recovery process. You are given time to think things over before making any decision.
The procedure and recovery
Rhinoplasty is performed in the operating room, most often under general anesthesia. After the procedure, a splint is placed on the nose for about a week. Swelling and bruising around the eyes are common in the first few days and gradually fade. Most patients return to their social lives after 10 to 15 days. The main result is visible after a few weeks, but the nose continues to refine its shape for about a year.
Good to know
Can rhinoplasty improve breathing? When a deviation impairs breathing, its correction can be combined with aesthetic rhinoplasty. This is evaluated during the consultation.
Is there a non-surgical alternative? To correct a small bump or minor flaw, a liquid rhinoplasty using hyaluronic acid injections may be considered. It does not reduce the size of the nose.
