RESULTS
The deposits are removed with a natural result and a visibly more harmonious appearance.
Healing progresses gradually over the weeks, leaving a scar that is as discreet as possible.
THE PROCEDURE IN DETAIL
Recognizing xanthelasma
Xanthelasma appears as a small yellowish plaque, flat or slightly raised, usually at the inner corner of the eyelids. It is benign and painless, but tends to spread over time. Since it can be associated with high cholesterol, a blood test with your doctor is recommended.
Surgical removal
Dr. Samuel Levy removes the lesion under local anesthesia, then closes the skin with very fine stitches placed in the natural folds of the eyelid. This technique allows for complete removal and a discreet scar. For larger lesions, the method is tailored during your consultation to preserve eyelid mobility.
Good to know
Can xanthelasma return? Recurrence is possible, especially if cholesterol levels remain high. Medical follow-up helps minimize this risk.
What is the recovery time? Mild swelling and bruising are possible for a few days. Stitches are generally removed after one week.
Can both eyelids be treated at the same time? Yes, most of the time, if the lesions allow for it.
